A. you are goofy and you push mongo *goofy is having your right foot first *mongo is having your back foot on first and pushing with your front

Skateboarding Question! How long does it take for someone to become good at skateboarding?
Q. When I say good at skateboarding I don't only mean just riding it. I'm talking about a descent amount of tricks too. How long do you think it might take me since it took me 3 weeks to learn how to ollie. If your a descent skateboarder how long did it take you to be where you are right now. I go out almost everyday and skateboard for at least an hour.

A. Everybody has a different range of time that it takes for them to learn tricks. I have been skating for 6 years and my process is fairly quick. If you go skate for more than an hour everyday, then you will make good progress. You will get stuck on tricks. That I can guarantee. It took me 2 months just to learn how to tre-flip(360 flip). Remember to train everyday if you want to get better, just don't force yourself to skate in the rain. It's going to mess up your griptape. I know since I live down in the south and we get lots of rain. But there are still other places you can skate, like in your garage or maybe train in the basement if your parents don't mind. remember: If you can't learn a trick, don't give up on it. What is the best age to start skateboarding?
Q. My partner and I are thinking about taking his son who will be 6 in December to Skateboard lessons. As it is only 2.00 membership per year and 2.50 per lesson until he can drop in. So what do you think is a good age to start? We would also like to get him on roller blades, would you wait until he can get to grips with skateboarding before we chuck him on to roller blades? He have just brought him a skateboard, helmet, knee pads & elbow pads. Just wondering when to start him. I brought him a 2 wheeled scooter about 4 weeks ago and he can already do tricks on it.

A. Sounds good- he's old enough to learn to balance so go for it! I had roller skates (blades weren't invented yet) at the age of five, and although I fell over a lot all I got were scrapes and I remember having lots of fun. I also learned to ride a bike (without stabilisers) when I was six. The lessons sound like a bargain too. Perhaps if you wait for him to have good balance on a skateboard it will make things easier for him when he learns to rollerblade as he'll have that more developed sense of balance.
